Kleurstof

This sample collection explores the use of geometrical inlay patterns in knitwear to shape and resize garments by pulling the threads of the inlay to adjust size or alter the silhouette.

The collection embraces the changeing and ageing of textiles with interaction. With time the indigo yarn will color the white paper inlay depending on the way they are worn by their wearer. The blue parts might fade with use showing the white core of the indigo cotton yarn after wear.

The collection is knitted on a Silverreed industrial knitting machine. The decorative inlay patterns are woven in while knitting the samples. The unraveled patterns are created by hand -using open needle work and floats - and through wear.
